Best Practice

codes of practice, regulations and legislation

As experts in our field we can advise you on complying with regulations and conforming to standards. In addition, we can support you in demonstrating good practice. Good practice is a practice that has been proven to work well and produce good results. The scope and detail of good practice reflects the nature of the risks, the complexity of the activity or process and the nature of the relevant legal requirements. Good practice generally consists of the adoption of Approved Codes of Practice (ACoP) and the adoption of Standards issued by bodies representing a particular industry sector. Good practice can, however, be distinguished from Best Practice, which usually means a voluntary standard above and beyond the minimum that is expected to meet the legal requirement such as that achieved via the application of good practice.

TMS strives to implement Best Practice in all we do. Our clinical protocols are derived from evidence-based best practice, and these underpin the delivery of all of our occupational health services. Best practices are used to maintain quality in addition to mandatory legislated standards and our quality management system arrangements, which are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and are subject to ongoing review, continuous improvement and external audit.
