Charity of the Year 2018-2019

Trident Medical Services StaffAs part of our corporate social responsibility policy, we have chosen to partner with a charity each year. The partnership provides a great opportunity for us to support a local charity though fundraising and volunteering opportunities and make a positive impact in our local community.

This year we are raising money for:

  • Crisis
  • Chloe and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund
  • SeeAbility

Last year we raised £10,615.94!

Last year (Sep 2017 – 18) we supported SeeAbility as our chosen charity of the year. Seeability supports people with sight loss and multiple disabilities and we set ourselves a target of raising £7,000 for its Heather House facility in Tadley. Heather House supports 16 young people with life-limiting conditions, including a rare disease called juvenile Batten Disease. We’re delighted to say that we exceeded our target and raised £10,615.94 which helped provide much-needed gym equipment and physiotherapy services.

Our charities for this year

This year we have decided to support three charities: we will continue to support SeeAbility but will also support Crisis and Chloe and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund.

Crisis supports people to get out of homelessness for good. It provides education, training, support with finding accommodation and also provides health care for those in need. It provides help through hostels and day centres and emergency accommodation.

Chloe and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund is a small local charity aiming to brighten the lives of deaf children. It covers Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and London borders and provides specialist equipment and materials to schools. It also provides resources and equipment to support children‘s emotional wellbeing and raises deaf awareness in the local community.

We will continue with fundraising activities like our on-site charity tuckshops and our quarterly 50:50 club! And TMS matches any funds that staff raise. In addition we donate money to our chosen charities every time a customer fills out a feedback form and every time we hit one of our corporate monthly objectives.
